I am currently back in Hong Kong after a long absence. Primarily my trip was to attend an old school reunion. However as the time got closer and I started to do some digging around I was reminded about how fascinating a place it was.

Since booking my trip I have managed to uncover a number of business opportnities that are so exciting. This would not be happening in the UK as there is no real appetite to do new and exciting things.

This is very refreshing and has further consolidated my belief that anything is possible and that my "30 Day Business Challenge _ How to have the business of your dreams" really does work if you are open to new possiblities.

The Challenge of thinking positive in today's economic climate

I was working recently with some clients who were going through the "30 Day Challenge Program - How to get the business of your dreams" when I was struck once again on how powerful it is when a client has a real desire to succeed and a willingness to do something different.

I have spoken with countless companies over the past 12 months who are running around like headless chickens with no real clear thinking on a way forward. - I recently met the UK MD of a market leading business who told me that they had NO plans to acquire net new business this year !! I was astounded and this clearly signalled the begining of the end for this organisation. How could such a plan be sanctioned by his superiors.

Whilst I understand the need to take care of existing clients and ensure that you maintain them as clients, what I am unsure of is on what basis would a company not want to grow its existing client base?

This MD was also very arrogant to the fact that he completely dismissed the fact that any of his competitors known or otherwise would be stealing a march on his business.

Challenge and ebook publishing

I really enjoy working with people and companies that love a challenge and I was recently working with a client that had some great content and wanted to create an e-book that they could share and make money from.

Traditionally publishing has been difficult to achieve but nowadays it is accessible to all.

When I was working with the client I came across a great piece of software that assisted them in getting to that elevated status of "published"

Looking for new opportunities

Hi Everyone

I am currently seeking an senior role with an organization in the Technology , Telecom or Business Services sector, which require assistance with a specific cultural or business change problem that will require expertise in general management, sales, business development or account management.

Possessing extensive experience in leading both strategic and tactical reviews and programs in the sales and business development arena as well as leading management teams into new ways of strategic thinking.

Consistently, my career has delivered increases in both revenue and profitability through identifying and exploiting new sales avenues and opportunities or more effective ways of running businesses.  Further business gains, such as increases in market share or re-positioning existing products and services into new markets are a particular area of expertise.

During my extensive career I have been able to demonstrate a flexible and can do attitude that has allowed both my employers and clients to allow me tackle problems with confidence. This can be evidenced in the project I conducted for my previous employer Stellent – at this time I was given the task of conducting a project that would allow them to open up an office in China. During this project I spent an extensive amount of time in China living and working in order to bring about this successful completion of this project.

I  have just completed work on a project on an International Basis where I  created and implemented the go to market, partnering and sales strategy for an IT business consulting operation. This business is unique in that it is seeking to put veterans from the armed forces back to work. The assignment entails coordinating these efforts both in the UK and the US, working with not only business partners but also Federal and State departments un the US but also the MOD and armed services. 

Ideally I am looking to move the US for a period of time so any help in finding a new suitable role would be appreciated.
